Our flagship tour is getting a major upgrade for the 2017 season with the addition of the Island Explorer 5. This brand new, state of the art catamaran is the fastest in the fleet and offers three viewing decks for an unparalleled view. Anacortes is one of the best places in the world to see killer whales in the wild, and is definitely a reason why we've been voted #1 in the Northwest the past 7 years!
8 hour tours departing April through September, 2017
The waterfront community of La Conner is the perfect departure location for our first ever tour with a stop for lunch! Enjoy a full day on the water for the true San Juan Islands experience. There's ultimate flexibility in finding wildlife as we don't have a rigid sechedule. This laid back, unplugged trip aboard the Island Explorer 4 will stop at Lopez Island on most days – the only tour in the area that does so.
4-5 hour tours departing April through Oct., 2017
Port Angeles is located on the super-highway for whales and wildlife known as the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Port Angeles has been a leader in sighting success rate. In 2014, we saw whales on 100% of tours! The Island Explorer 3 is new to Port Angeles, but not to Island Adventures. She's regarded as one of the most comfortable vessels on the West Coast, and is perfect for whale watching in the wild west!
3 hour tours departing March through May, 2017
Join us in the springtime for a whale watch tour like no other! With its close proximity to downtown Seattle, Everett's three hour tours are the perfect getaway from the city. This tour focuses on the migrating gray whales which are only in the area for a limited time. Often times, whales are spotted less than a half hour away from the dock (and sometimes closer)! Don't miss the best whale watching deal in Washington state.
3-5 hour tours departing November through March, 2017
Many people are unaware that the traditional travel pattern of our local resident orcas take them south into the Puget Sound in late October. It is not uncommon to have nearly 90 whales playing the waters near Seattle. As Seattle's only dedicated whale watch program, we are in a unique position to be able to find them. Although whales are our #1 goal, there is also a wide variety of wildlife to encounter. Our guests commonly see seals, sea lions, porpoise, and a wide variety of sea birds throughout the winter.
”Great time for all”We took our 6 yr old. We all had a great time! Saw two humpbacks, otter, eagles, porpoises, and many Orcas including a calf. One Orca jumped straight out of the water. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly. The captain let our daughter stand next to him and even take a turn steering (with help). Tamara was our naturalist and she was great! Would highly recommend and would definitely go again.
